Australian midcourter and two-time World Cup champion who spent her entire domestic career with New South Wales clubs, later becoming inaugural captain of Giants Netball.
Kimberlee Green was born on 5 March 1986 in Sydney, joining the Sydney Swifts at just 16 and quickly establishing herself as a dominant, relentless midcourt player. She helped the Swifts win back-to-back Commonwealth Bank Trophy titles in 2006 and 2007, then the inaugural ANZ Championship title in 2008 as the club rebranded as NSW Swifts, before being selected for the Australian Diamonds later that year. Green earned 74 caps for Australia, winning World Cup gold in 2011 and 2015 and Commonwealth Games gold in 2014, serving as joint vice-captain of the Diamonds at that tournament and standing in as acting captain for two Tests against England when Laura Geitz was injured. She missed only 15 Tests across her seven-year international career, and captained the NSW Swifts domestically from 2014. In 2017, Green became the inaugural captain of Giants Netball for the launch of the Suncorp Super Netball league, guiding the club to a minor premiership in 2018 despite a season-ending ACL injury that year. She retired from professional netball in 2019 after 74 international caps and an entire domestic career spent loyally within New South Wales, and was awarded the OAM in 2022 and inducted into the Netball NSW Hall of Fame for her contribution to the sport.
