Neel Jani was born in Baar, Switzerland in 1983 to an Indian father and Swiss mother. He won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2016 with Porsche alongside Romain Dumas and Marc Lieb. He won the FIA World Endurance Championship. His combination of simulator expertise — he was Porsche's primary simulator driver — with exceptional race pace made him the most technically versatile endurance driver of his generation. He holds the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb record in an electric car (2016). He later competed in Formula E.
