He holds the record for most F1 starts without a podium finish — 206 before finally scoring his first podium in 2024 with Haas. He won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2015 driving for Porsche as a one-off entry — combining his F1 schedule with endurance racing preparation. His Le Mans performance — entered at short notice after another driver withdrew — is the most celebrated individual substitute performance in endurance racing. He is nicknamed The Hulk for his physical power and car control.
