Marco Asensio Willemsen was born in Palma, Mallorca, Spain on 21 January 1996. He came through Mallorca's academy before joining Real Madrid in 2015. His left foot produced some of the most spectacular goals in Champions League history, including a debut strike against Barcelona in the Super Cup. He won three Champions Leagues (2016, 2017, 2018), two La Liga titles and multiple trophies at Madrid, making 286 appearances and scoring 50 goals. A serious ACL injury in 2019 hampered his progress. He earned 36 caps for Spain. He joined PSG in 2023 on a free transfer.
