Ander Herrera Agüera was born in Bilbao, Spain on 14 August 1989. He came through the youth ranks at Real Zaragoza before joining Athletic Bilbao in 2011, where he became a key player. In 2014, Manchester United signed him for £29 million and he quickly became a cult hero at Old Trafford thanks to his tireless running and combative style. He won the FA Cup in 2016 and the Europa League and League Cup in 2017, and was named Manchester United's Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year in 2017. He left for Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer in 2019, winning three Ligue 1 titles. He later returned to Athletic Bilbao in 2022.
