English professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Manchester United and England, known for his attacking runs and crossing ability.
Luke Paul Hoare Shaw was born in Kingston upon Thames on 12 July 1995. He came through Southampton's academy and became the youngest player to appear in the Premier League for the club at age 16. In 2014, Manchester United signed him for £27 million, making him the most expensive teenager in world football at the time. A horrific double leg break in September 2015 against PSV Eindhoven threatened his career, but he made a courageous recovery. Under Ole Gunnar Solskjær, Shaw produced his best form, winning Manchester United's Player of the Year in 2018-19. He scored England's opening goal in the Euro 2020 final against Italy. He won the FA Cup in 2016 and the League Cup in 2023 with United. He has earned over 30 England caps.
