Norwegian professional golfer who became the first Norwegian to win on the PGA Tour and achieved a career-high world ranking of No. 3 in 2023
Viktor Hovland was born in Oslo, Norway in 1997. He attended Oklahoma State University in the United States. He became the most successful Norwegian golfer in history — winning the FedEx Cup in 2023. His ball-striking and distance are exceptional. He was eliminated from the 2023 Masters Play-Off on a chip yip — a loss of ability to control short chips — generating enormous technical analysis of the psychological fragility in elite golf. He has since recovered his chipping. He is the Norwegian flag-bearer for European golf.
