English darts player nicknamed 'The Tornado' who won the 2003 Winmau World Masters, beating Raymond van Barneveld in the final.

Born in Waltham Abbey, Essex, on 7 July 1972, Tony West competed on the BDO circuit from 2002 before switching to the PDC a decade later. His signature achievement came at the 2003 Winmau World Masters, where after saving a match against Ted Hankey in the semi-finals, he faced defending champion Raymond van Barneveld — who was chasing a clean sweep of that year's grand slam events — in the final, coming from behind to win the title. West also reached the final of the World Masters in 2002, losing to Mark Dudbridge, and reached the last 16 of the BDO World Championship on three occasions between 2004 and 2010. His younger brother Steve West also competed professionally, and the pair faced each other several times over their careers. In 2012, West entered the PDC's Q-School alongside his brother and fellow BDO convert Dean Winstanley, winning a tour card by beating Keegan Brown. His best PDC result came at the 2012 European Tour, where he beat world number 11 Justin Pipe and Terry Jenkins to reach his first PDC quarter-final. West's PDC career wound down by the mid-2010s after he was unable to maintain his tour card, closing out a career defined by his 2003 World Masters triumph.
