William Anthony Parker Jr. was born in Bruges, Belgium in 1982 and grew up in France, the son of Tony Parker Sr., a former professional basketball player. San Antonio Spurs selected him 28th overall in the 2001 NBA Draft — a steal that defined his dynasty. His 18-season career produced four NBA championships with San Antonio (2003, 2005, 2007, 2014) and the Finals MVP award in 2007 — when he averaged 24.5 points per game against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was selected to six All-Star games and named to the All-NBA Second Team four times. He averaged 15.5 points and 5.6 assists per game across his career. His penetrating style — attacking the rim from either side using his floater or pull-up jumper — was impossible to contain in the mid-2000s when he was at his peak. He was the youngest Finals MVP in NBA history at the time of his 2007 award at age 25. He represented France at four Olympics and multiple EuroBasket tournaments, winning silver at the 2000 Sydney Games as a teenager.
