Born in Nakhon Nayok, Thailand, on 18 April 1985, Thepchaiya Un-Nooh turned professional after winning the 2008 IBSF World Amateur Championship, though his first season on tour lasted only a year. He rejoined the main tour permanently in 2012 and has remained ever-present since, developing a reputation as one of the fastest and most naturally attacking players in the modern game, averaging under 17 seconds per shot in several seasons. Un-Nooh's first breakthrough came away from the ranking circuit at the 2015 Six-red World Championship in his home country, where he beat world champion Stuart Bingham and former UK champion Judd Trump before defeating Liang Wenbo in the final. His maiden ranking title arrived at the 2019 Snooker Shoot Out, an event tailor-made for his rapid-fire game, beating Michael Holt in the final. Later that year he reached the final of the World Open, losing to Judd Trump, and rose to a career-high ranking of world number 15 in 2020. Un-Nooh has compiled seven career maximum 147 breaks, including a dramatic missed final black attempting a maximum against Neil Robertson at the 2015 UK Championship, later recreating and completing the shot on a UK television show. His second ranking title came at the 2026 World Open, where he defeated Ronnie O'Sullivan 10-7 in the final while making his seventh maximum break during the match. Nicknamed 'F1' for his fast playing style, Un-Nooh remains one of the sport's most entertaining players and one of only two Thai players, alongside James Wattana, to win a full-format ranking tournament.
