Thai professional snooker player who reached the 2023 Scottish Open final and became only the third Thai player to reach the World Championship last 16.
Born in Samut Prakan, Thailand, on 15 July 1992, Noppon Saengkham won the 2009 IBSF World Under-21 Championship, defeating Soheil Vahedi in the final, a result that earned him his first spell on the main tour for the 2010/11 season. After an unsuccessful debut year, he returned to the tour permanently in 2013 following further amateur success. Saengkham reached the last 16 of the World Championship in 2020, becoming only the third Thai player after James Wattana and Dechawat Poomjaeng to do so, beating former champion Shaun Murphy 10-4 before losing 13-12 to three-time champion Mark Selby. He compiled his first maximum 147 break against Mark Selby at the 2019 Welsh Open. His best tournament run came at the 2023 Scottish Open, where he beat Rebecca Kenna, Lukas Kleckers, Ali Carter, Matthew Selt, Sanderson Lam and John Higgins to reach his first ranking final, finishing runner-up to Gary Wilson. He reached a career-high ranking of world number 22 later that year. Saengkham continues to compete on the main tour, regarded as one of the leading Thai players of his generation alongside Thepchaiya Un-Nooh.
