Samantha May Kerr was born in Fremantle, Western Australia in 1993. She made her senior debut for Australia aged 15 — the youngest player in Matildas history. She joined Chelsea in 2020 for a fee reported to be a world record for women's football at the time. Her Chelsea career produced multiple consecutive Women's Super League titles. She won the WSL with Chelsea in 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023. She was named Chelsea Player of the Year multiple times.
