José Ignacio Fernández Iglesias, known as Nacho, was born in Madrid on 18 January 1990. He came through Real Madrid's legendary La Fábrica academy and spent his entire career at the club, making over 350 appearances. Though rarely a guaranteed starter, his versatility, professionalism and ability to perform at the highest level made him indispensable. He won six Champions Leagues, four La Liga titles and numerous other trophies. He captained Madrid during the 2023-24 season. He earned 27 caps for Spain. He left Real Madrid in 2024 to join Al-Qadsiah in Saudi Arabia.
