The most naturally gifted racing driver of his era — Jim Clark won two World Championships before his death at 32 in a Formula 2 race and was worshipped by contemporaries who considered him peerless.

Jim Clark is considered by many of his contemporaries and successors as the most naturally talented racing driver of all time. He won the Formula 1 World Championship in 1963 and 1965. In 1963 he won seven of ten races. He also won the Indianapolis 500 in 1965. His death at Hockenheim in April 1968 in a routine Formula 2 race shocked the world and transformed motor racing safety.

He is the only driver ever to win both the Formula 1 World Championship and the Indianapolis 500 in the same year — 1965.
