Ibrahima Konaté was born in Paris, France in 1999. RB Leipzig developed him from Sochaux before Liverpool paid £36 million in 2021. His three Liverpool seasons have produced the FA Cup, League Cup, Champions League Final appearance and Premier League title. His combination of size — 6ft 4in — with pace and composure makes him an ideal modern centre-back. He performs best in knockout football — his performances in Champions League knockout rounds have been consistently exceptional. He represented France 18 times.
