Henrik Kristoffersen

Norwegian technical specialist and the most successful slalom skier in his country's history, a four-time World Cup slalom champion and Olympic medalist across three Games.

Henrik Kristoffersen was born on 2 July 1994 in Rælingen, Norway, and was introduced to skiing at age five by his father and former ski racer Lars Kristoffersen, who went on to coach him. He set a men's record of eight FIS Junior World Championship medals before making his senior World Cup debut in 2012. At the 2014 Sochi Olympics, Kristoffersen won bronze in slalom at age 19 to become the youngest male medalist in Olympic alpine skiing history. In January 2016 he became the first skier to win the three classic slalom races at Adelboden, Wengen, and Kitzbühel in the same season, and later extended the feat to include Schladming as well. He won his first World Championship gold in giant slalom at Åre in 2019, adding silver in slalom the same year, and later added a World Championship slalom title in 2023. Kristoffersen has added Olympic silver medals in giant slalom at both the 2018 Pyeongchang and 2022 Beijing Games, and a bronze in slalom at Milan-Cortina 2026, giving him three consecutive Olympic medals in his specialist events. By late 2025 he had amassed 33 World Cup victories - 25 in slalom and 8 in giant slalom - along with 95 podium finishes, and his four career slalom crystal globes rank him among the discipline's most successful skiers of all time.
