George Weah is one of football's most inspirational figures. He became the first and only African player to win the Ballon d'Or in 1995, and was named World Player of the Year. At AC Milan he was one of the world's most feared strikers. After retirement he devoted himself to his country's development and won the Liberian presidential election in 2017 — one of sport's greatest post-career stories.
He is the only professional footballer to have won the Ballon d'Or and later become President of his country.
