A powerful, clinical forward with a rare instinct for the big occasion, she led Canada to the World Cup on six occasions and captained the team to a historic Olympic gold medal at the delayed Tokyo 2020 Games, having previously won consecutive Olympic bronze medals in 2012 and 2016. She surpassed Abby Wambach's record of 184 international goals in January 2020 and went on to extend the mark to 190 before stepping away from the national team, closing out her playing career with the Portland Thorns in the NWSL in 2024.
