Ukraine's greatest footballer — Ballon d'Or winner and Champions League winner with AC Milan, and 48-goal scorer for his country.
Andriy Shevchenko is Ukraine's greatest footballer and one of the most celebrated strikers of his generation. At AC Milan he scored 173 goals in 296 appearances, winning the Champions League in 2003 and the Ballon d'Or in 2004. His transfer to Chelsea for £30 million in 2006 was controversial — the move to a different playing style and manager ultimately limited his impact. He won 111 Ukraine caps.
His 173 goals for AC Milan made him the second-highest scorer in the club's history behind Gunnar Nordahl.
