Rangers' all-time leading scorer with 355 goals — the most prolific striker in Scottish football history and a cult hero at Ibrox.

Alistair Murdoch McCoist was born in Bellshill, Lanarkshire in 1962. He joined Rangers in 1983 from Sunderland and became the club's all-time leading scorer with 355 goals in 581 appearances — a record unlikely to be broken. He won nine Scottish Premier League titles, one Scottish Cup and nine League Cups during an era of Rangers dominance under Graeme Souness and Walter Smith. He won the European Golden Boot in 1992 and 1993 — the only player outside the top five European leagues to win it in consecutive years. He earned 61 caps for Scotland, scoring 19 goals. He later managed Rangers through the financial collapse and administration process (2011–14) when the club was relegated to the fourth tier of Scottish football — remaining loyal to the club through severe hardship. He later worked as a television pundit and presenter. His infectious personality, wit and love of the club he served for over a decade made him one of Scottish football's most popular figures.
