Zachary LaVine was born in Renton, Washington in 1995. Minnesota Timberwolves selected him 13th overall in the 2014 NBA Draft after one year at UCLA. His career has produced 22.0 points per game and two All-Star appearances. He won the Slam Dunk Contest in consecutive years (2015, 2016) — becoming the first player since Michael Jordan and Dominique Wilkins to win back-to-back contests. His 2016 contest performance is widely considered the greatest individual dunk contest since Vince Carter in 2000 — featuring a 360-windmill dunk and a between-the-legs from the free-throw line that produced perfect scores. He suffered a torn ACL in February 2017 but returned to form completely. He signed a five-year, $215 million contract with the Bulls in 2022. He won Olympic gold with the USA at Tokyo 2020.
