Tina Charles was born in Queens, New York in 1988. Connecticut Sun selected her first overall in the 2010 WNBA Draft from UConn. She won the WNBA MVP in 2012 and three consecutive WNBA scoring titles. She won two Olympic gold medals (2016, 2020) and was a seven-time All-Star. She became the WNBA's all-time leading scorer in 2021, surpassing Tina Thompson's record. She played for multiple franchises across her career and was consistently the most prolific offensive rebounder in the league. Her combination of post skill, athleticism and conditioning produced over 7,000 WNBA career points. She was named to the WNBA's 25th Anniversary All-Time team.
