Terry Jenkins

English darts player nicknamed 'The Bull' who reached a peak ranking of world number three and was runner-up in nine major PDC televised finals without ever winning one.

Born in Ledbury, Herefordshire, on 26 September 1963, Terry Jenkins began his career in the BDO in the early 1990s before making his mark in the PDC from the mid-2000s, initially playing under the nickname 'Tucker' before adopting 'The Bull'. Jenkins became one of the PDC's most consistent performers of the late 2000s, reaching nine major televised finals — the 2006 and 2007 World Grand Prix, the 2007 Premier League, the 2007 Las Vegas Desert Classic, the 2007 and 2009 World Matchplay, and the 2008 Grand Slam of Darts — without winning any of them, an unwanted record for the most televised final defeats without a major title. He reached the World Championship semi-final in 2011, his best run at darts' biggest event. Despite the lack of a major title, Jenkins won six Players Championships and reached a career-high ranking of world number three (some sources cite four), and won the Antwerp Open three years running from 2005 to 2007. He also achieved a televised nine-dart finish during his career. Jenkins remained a professional until 2018 and later continued to compete on the World Seniors circuit, reaching the semi-finals of its World Championship in 2022, extending a competitive career that has spanned five decades.
