Born in Cham, Switzerland, on 3 May 1989, Stefan Bellmont built his early reputation on the BDO and WDF circuits before switching to the PDC in 2019. He made history in December 2024 by becoming the first Swiss player to compete at the PDC World Darts Championship, qualifying via the West Europe Qualifier. Bellmont backed up that milestone with an even stronger 2025 season, winning three PDC Challenge Tour titles and finishing top of the Challenge Tour Order of Merit, which earned him a two-year PDC Tour Card — making him the first Swiss player ever to hold one — along with a second consecutive World Championship appearance and a place in that year's Grand Slam of Darts. At the 2026 World Championship, Bellmont recorded his first win on the sport's biggest stage, beating five-time world champion Raymond van Barneveld 3-0 to reach the second round, one of the tournament's most notable results from a lower-ranked player. He has also picked up notable Pro Tour scalps over players including Michael Smith and Rob Cross. Outside competition, Bellmont opened his own darts venue, Belli's Darts House, in his hometown of Cham, and is widely regarded as a pioneer and role model for the growth of the sport in Switzerland.
