English midcourter who won four Netball Super League titles across an 18-year career, before switching allegiance to Barbados alongside her sister Kadeen for the 2023 World Cup.
Sasha Corbin (later Da Costa) was born on 23 April 1988 in London, and grew up in Tottenham inspired by watching her mother play netball. She chose netball over athletics as a teenager after being offered a Team Bath tour of South Africa, going on to represent England's youth teams and win silver at the Florida World Youth Championships as a 16-year-old. Corbin made her Netball Superleague debut with Hertfordshire Mavericks in its inaugural season, then moved to Team Bath in 2006 while studying at the University of Bath, winning three titles there before returning to Mavericks in 2010 and captaining the club for four of her five seasons, winning a further title in 2011. She earned 71 caps for England, making her international debut in 2011 and playing at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, where England finished fourth. After spells at Loughborough Lightning and New Zealand's Northern Mystics, Corbin returned to Mavericks and captained the club for a decade in total, retiring at the end of the 2023 Netball Super League season with four domestic titles. In her final act before retirement, she switched international allegiance to represent Barbados at the 2023 World Cup in Cape Town alongside her younger sister Kadeen, closing out an 18-year playing career before moving into media work and coaching, including as brand ambassador for London Mavericks.
