Sarah Fuller was born in Wylie, Texas in 1999. A goalkeeper for Vanderbilt University's soccer team, she was recruited to kick for the Vanderbilt football team in November 2020 due to COVID-19 absences. On 28 November 2020 she kicked off against Missouri, becoming the first woman to play in a Power Five college football game. On 12 December 2020 she scored two extra points against Tennessee — the first points scored by a woman in Power Five college football history. Her appearances generated national conversation about gender integration in American collegiate sport and were cited in subsequent policy discussions at the NCAA level.
