Rod Woodson was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1965. Pittsburgh Steelers selected him 10th overall in the 1987 NFL Draft from Purdue. Over 17 seasons he recorded 71 career interceptions (second all-time) and 1,590 interception return yards — the NFL all-time record. He was named NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1993 and selected to 11 Pro Bowls. He transitioned to safety late in his career and won the Super Bowl XXXV championship with the Baltimore Ravens. He was named to the NFL 75th and 100th Anniversary All-Time Teams and inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2009.
