American defensive end who dominated the NFL for 15 seasons, recording 198 career sacks and earning induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006.
Reginald Howard White was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee in 1961. Known as the Minister of Defense, he recorded 198 career sacks — the second-highest in NFL history. He won Super Bowl XXXI with the Green Bay Packers after the 1996 season, recording three sacks. He was named NFL Defensive Player of the Year twice (1987, 1998) and was selected to 13 Pro Bowls. His combination of speed, strength and technique — particularly the hump move — made him virtually unblockable one-on-one. He was the NFL's signature 1993 free agent, choosing Green Bay and helping transform them into a championship team. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006. He died of cardiac arrhythmia in December 2004 aged 43.
