LeBron Raymonde James was born in Akron, Ohio in 1984, the son of a single mother, and was dubbed The Chosen One by Sports Illustrated while still in high school. Drafted 1st overall by Cleveland in 2003, he has played for the Cavaliers (2003–10, 2014–18), Miami Heat (2010–14) and Los Angeles Lakers (2018–present). He became the NBA's all-time leading scorer in February 2023, surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's record of 38,387 points that had stood for 39 years — finishing with over 40,000 career points. His 27.1 ppg, 7.5 rpg and 7.4 apg make him the most complete all-around player in league history. He has won 4 championships with 3 different franchises — the first player to achieve this — and 4 Finals MVPs.
