Kyle Lowry was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1986 and attended Villanova University. Memphis Grizzlies selected him 24th overall in the 2006 NBA Draft. His finest years came with the Toronto Raptors from 2012 to 2021 where he became the franchise's all-time assists leader and won the NBA championship in 2019 — Toronto's first and only title. He was selected to six All-Star games. He averaged 14.6 points and 6.4 assists per game across his career. His toughness — willing to take charges, dive for loose balls, argue every call — made him the emotional leader of every team he played for. His partnership with DeMar DeRozan created Toronto's first genuinely great backcourt and set the foundation for the championship. He averaged 14.2 points per game in the 2019 playoffs as Toronto defeated the Golden State Warriors. He won Olympic gold with Canada at Paris 2024. He retired in 2024 after 18 seasons.
