Kemba Hudley Walker was born in The Bronx, New York in 1990. He led Connecticut to the 2011 NCAA Championship — one of the great individual tournament performances in college history — before Charlotte Bobcats selected him ninth overall that year. His 12-season career produced four All-Star appearances and consistent scoring in the upper 20s per game in his peak seasons. He spent eight seasons as Charlotte's cornerstone, becoming the franchise's all-time leading scorer. He signed with the Boston Celtics in 2019 and made consecutive All-Star teams. A knee condition that progressively worsened from 2020 cut his peak short and limited his effectiveness in his final seasons. His 60-point game in overtime against Philadelphia in 2019 while at Charlotte — the highest single-game total in Hornets/Bobcats franchise history — remains the finest individual performance in the franchise's history. He won Olympic gold with the USA in 2021.
