Karolína Muchová was born on 21 August 1996 in Olomouc, Czech Republic. She turned professional in 2013 and gradually developed a reputation for her excellent all-court game. Muchová is known for her elegant single-handed backhand — rare in the women's game — and her natural feel for the ball. She reached the Roland Garros semi-finals in 2021 and the 2023 US Open final. She has battled elbow and other injuries during her career but remains one of the most technically gifted players on tour.
