American basketball forward known for his scoring ability, versatile offensive skills, and leading the Boston Celtics to their 2024 NBA championship.

Jayson Christopher Tatum was born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1998. Boston Celtics selected him third overall in the 2017 NBA Draft after one season at Duke University. He immediately contributed to a deep playoff run in his rookie year — scoring 21 points against LeBron James in a pivotal Game 7. He has developed into one of the NBA's premier wings, combining mid-range excellence with improved three-point shooting, rebounding and playmaking. He was selected to five All-Star games by 2024. He led the Boston Celtics to the NBA Finals in 2022 and to the NBA championship in 2024 — winning Finals MVP after averaging 22.2 points per game against the Dallas Mavericks. He won Olympic gold with the USA at Paris 2024. His scoring average of 23.2 points per game is among the highest of any Boston Celtic in franchise history. His ability to get to his spot — the mid-range pull-up from either elbow — and his improved three-point shooting (38%+) make him one of the most complete offensive forwards of his generation.
