Kallis displayed exceptional sporting talent from an early age, excelling in both cricket and rugby at Wynberg Boys' High School before focusing entirely on cricket. Kallis made his international debut for South Africa in 1995 at age 20, quickly establishing himself as a formidable batting talent.
