Henrikh Mkhitaryan was born in Yerevan, Armenia on 21 January 1989. He began at Pyunik Yerevan before joining Metalurh Donetsk and then Shakhtar Donetsk, where he became one of the Ukrainian league's outstanding players. A move to Borussia Dortmund in 2013 saw him win the Bundesliga Player of the Year award. Manchester United signed him in 2016 and he scored in the 2017 Europa League final against Ajax. He was swapped for Alexis Sánchez in a move to Arsenal in January 2018, then joined Roma on loan before signing permanently. He moved to Inter Milan in 2020, helping them win Serie A in 2021 and reach the 2023 Champions League final. Armenia's all-time top scorer with 32 goals in over 90 caps.
