American artistic gymnast who won the Olympic all-around gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and captured nine World Championship medals.

Born in Moscow, Russia, in 1989, Anastasia Valeryevna "Nastia" Liukin grew up in a gymnastics dynasty. Her father, Valeri Liukin, was a decorated Soviet gymnast who won gold medals at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. When Nastia was two years old, her family immigrated to the United States, settling in Texas where her father established a gymnastics training facility.
