Diogo Dalot Teixeira was born in Braga, Portugal on 18 March 1999. He came through Porto's academy and was signed by Manchester United in 2018 for £19 million by José Mourinho. After a loan spell at AC Milan in 2020-21, he returned to United and established himself as first-choice right-back under Erik ten Hag. Capable of playing on both flanks, Dalot combines attacking intent with improving defensive solidity. He won the League Cup in 2023 and the FA Cup in 2024. Internationally, he has represented Portugal at under-age level and has become a regular in the senior squad, featuring at Euro 2024.

He can play effectively on both the right and left side of defence, and was signed by José Mourinho, who described him as the best full-back in his age group in Europe.
