Born on 23 August 1995 in Frederiksberg, Denmark, Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig won a silver medal in the junior individual time trial at the World Championships before beginning her senior career in 2013. She progressed through Danish Continental teams before her career took off in 2016 with the Danish elite time trial national title. Uttrup Ludwig moved to the Bigla Pro Cycling Team from 2017 to 2019, achieving podium finishes at Trofeo Alfredo Binda and the Giro dell'Emilia, before winning her first WorldTour victory at the 2021 Vuelta a Burgos Femenina. Her breakthrough season came in 2022, when she won a stage of the inaugural Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift and the overall title at the Tour of Scandinavia, cementing her status as one of the most exciting riders in the women's peloton.
