Casper Ruud was born on 22 December 1998 in Oslo, Norway, and is the son of former professional player Christian Ruud. He trained extensively in Barcelona and built an exceptional clay-court game that took him to three Grand Slam finals — the 2022 Roland Garros and US Open and the 2023 Roland Garros — losing all three but establishing himself as a top-five player. Ruud has won numerous ATP titles on clay and is renowned for his consistency, work ethic, and relentless baseline game. He reached a career-high ranking of No. 2 in the world in 2022.
