Bahamian basketball player known for his exceptional three-point shooting ability and prolific scoring throughout his NBA career with multiple franchises.
Buddy Hield was born in Governor's Harbour, Bahamas on 17 December 1992. The Bahamas' greatest basketball export, Hield is one of the purest shooters in NBA history with a unique shooting form and extraordinary range. He was selected sixth overall in the 2016 NBA Draft by the New Orleans Pelicans and was eventually traded to Sacramento Kings, where his three-point volume shooting made him one of the league's most consistent offensive producers. He has shot 40%+ from three multiple times and has made more three-pointers in certain seasons than any player not named Steph Curry. He moved to Indiana Pacers and then Golden State Warriors. He has represented the Bahamas internationally across multiple tournaments and is regarded as the country's most important sporting export.
