Brendan Morrow was born in Carlyle, Saskatchewan in 1979. Dallas Stars selected him 25th overall in the 1997 NHL Draft. He spent 12 of his 14 NHL seasons with Dallas, becoming the franchise's longest-serving captain and one of its most beloved figures. A power forward who combined physical aggression with consistent 20-25 goal scoring, Morrow was the emotional and competitive core of Dallas teams that competed deep into the playoffs. He won Olympic gold with Canada at Vancouver 2010. He later played for Pittsburgh, Los Angeles and St. Louis before retiring in 2015.
