1. Our Commitment
Famous Sports People respects the intellectual property rights of others. This site publishes biographical and factual information about public figures drawn from publicly available sources. Facts, statistics and historical records are not protected by copyright. However, we take all copyright concerns seriously and will act promptly on valid notices.
2. UK Copyright (CDPA 1988)
This website is operated from the United Kingdom and is primarily governed by the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (CDPA). If you believe any content on this site infringes your copyright under UK law, please send a written notice to [email protected].
3. US DMCA (for US Rights Holders)
In accordance with the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512), US rights holders may also submit a DMCA takedown notice to [email protected].
4. What Your Notice Must Include
- Your full name, postal address, telephone number and email address
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
- The specific URL(s) on this website of the content you believe is infringing
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on their behalf
- Your electronic or physical signature
5. Our Response
We will review all valid notices and respond within 5 business days. Where a notice is valid we will remove or disable access to the content promptly.
6. Counter-Notice
If you believe content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice to [email protected] including:
- Your name, address and contact details
- Identification of the content removed and the URL where it appeared
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the content was removed in error
- Your consent to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales (UK matters) or the federal court for your district (US matters)
- Your electronic or physical signature
Upon receipt of a valid counter-notice we will restore the content within 10 business days unless the original complainant confirms they have initiated legal proceedings.
7. Repeat Infringement
Famous Sports People operates a policy of removing content that is the subject of repeated valid copyright notices.
