Widely regarded as the greatest footballer of all time, Pelé scored 757 career goals for Santos across two decades and won three FIFA World Cups with Brazil (1958, 1962, 1970). He became the only player in history to win three World Cups and remains the benchmark against which all footballing greatness is measured. Born in poverty in Três Corações, he signed for Santos aged fifteen and became the world's first true global football superstar. His performances at the 1970 World Cup, leading a team considered the greatest ever assembled, have never been surpassed. He passed away on 29 December 2022, aged 82.

He scored 77 hat-tricks in his career and remains the only player to win three FIFA World Cups.
