The Big O — the first player to average a triple-double for an entire season, Oscar Robertson's combination of scoring, rebounding and playmaking set standards never seen before.

Oscar Robertson averaged a triple-double for an entire NBA season in 1961-62 — a feat not matched until Russell Westbrook in 2016-17. His combination of extraordinary basketball intelligence, scoring ability and rebounding for a guard was unprecedented. He won the NBA Championship with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in Milwaukee in 1971. He was also instrumental in the legal case that brought free agency to the NBA.

He averaged a triple-double for an entire season in 1961-62 — a record that stood for 55 years until Russell Westbrook matched it.
