His combination of extraordinary athleticism, powerful dunking and prolific scoring earned him the nickname "The Human Highlight Reel." He averaged 26.7 points per game — the seventh-highest career average in NBA history — and won the Slam Dunk Contest twice. His 1988 duel with Jordan in the contest is considered the greatest in its history.
