Abedi Ayew, known as Abedi Pelé, is Ghana's greatest ever footballer and was African Player of the Year three consecutive times (1991, 1992, 1993). At Marseille he was a central figure in their French league domination and Champions League victory in 1993. His gifted three children — André, Jordan and Ibrahim — all played professional football.

He and his three sons — André, Jordan and Ibrahim Ayew — all played professional football at the highest level.
